The best way to light the wick is to focus the flame of the lighter on one corner of the wick, at the base of the wax, so that the flame can heat and ignite the wax properly. If the corner burns, hold it briefly in a sheltered position so that the flame can eat through the wick. The flame is very windproof once the entire wick is lit.

500g of wax is enough for 5 to 10 hours of burning time. It is difficult to say more precisely because it depends on which CLARUS you have and how far you let the wick protrude from the wax. If it protrudes further, the fire will be bigger, but it will also use more wax.

CLARUS can burn for years if you always feed it with enough wax. It is therefore important that the wick never burns dry. Always remember to put wax scraps in the melted wax so that the wick never protrudes more than 3 cm from the wax. You can simply put candle scraps on the edge of your wick; the fire will melt the wax itself. If you use candle scraps with wicks to refill the candle, the wick scraps can be easily fished out of the liquid wax after extinguishing.

Your CLARUS comes with a matching concrete lid. This is not only beautiful, but also useful! This lid serves as an extinguishing tool. Simply place it on your CLARUS and it will no longer receive any oxygen and will go out. Never try to extinguish your CLARUS by blowing on it. Since the flame is very wind-resistant, you are more likely to blow the liquid wax out of the continuous fire and in the worst case scenario you could injure someone. Likewise, your CLARUS should never be extinguished with water.

No, because CLARUS is an OUTDOOR fire, which means it can only be used outdoors. Its wick is so large that it creates a wonderful, large flame, which can also produce a little soot. So take CLARUS outside to your lovely balcony or cozy patio.
